I just returned from the 2nd Asia-Pacific Conference on Systems Engineering (APCOSE) held at Keio University in Yokohama, Japan. The theme of this conference was “Systems Engineering: Wisdom for Global Harmony.” http://www.incose.org/japan/apcose2008/index.html
There were many excellent papers presented at the conference and I wanted to share with you the final program and list of abstracts in case you were interested in reading the papers. In the final program, you can find the summaries of the keynote presentations by companies like Toyota, Mitsubishi, and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology. The list of papers in on pages 12-14. I am also attaching the abstracts of these papers in case you would like more detail. If you are interested in the full paper I would be happy to provide it if you send me an e-mail.
The Japanese chapter of INCOSE is very strong and there are other countries in Asia with very active participation such as South Korea, China, Taiwan, and Singapore. In June 2009, Singapore will host the next INCOSE International Symposium with the theme “East Meets West: The Human Dimension to Systems Engineering”. http://www.incose.org/symp2009/
